Description Knowledge and discussion on the topic of quality of life among children and adolescents on dialysis and after kidney transplantation has been growing in last several years, though it remains scattered. Mostly longitudinal studies are lacking. This project is a starting project in the field of quality of life among children witch chronic kidney disease in Slovakia. The aim of the project is to create a national register of information about children and adolescents (up to the age of 19 years) with chronic kidney disease resulting in need of dialysis treatment or kidney transplantation and to study quality of life and functional status of the patients. Collected data include renal parameters, socio-demographic data, health-related quality of life, behavioral characteristics and psychological variables (emotional well-being, self-esteem, coping and other). Later on longitudinal analyses are planned.
