Martina Behanová (1983) graduated in 2007 from the Trnava university, Faculty of Healthcare and Social Work in the field of Public Health. During her studies she participated in student's research projects and deepened her interest and skills in public health by completing three months internship at the RIVM – National institute for Public Health and the Environment (Bilthoven, the Netherlands). She worked at the Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic for 2 years, where she collaborated with WHO and European Commission (DG Environment). She defended a PhD thesis at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 2014 on urban health indicators, a part of the EU funded FP7 project the EURO-URHIS 2.
