WHO Collaborating Centre for Capacity Building and Ministry of Health SR

WHO Collaborating Centre for Capacity Building and Ministry of Health signed an agreement about 2 years lasted co-operation on revision of national strategy on tackling health inequalities. Public Health Authority delegated dr. J. Kollarova to lead a working team. Dr. Rajnicova, Dr. Katreniakova, K. Rosicova and dr. Madarasova Geckova became a members of working team with regard to this initiative. Two meetings (working group with WHO advisors) were arranged (July, September) and another one is expected latest in February. Kosice part of working team met several times to work on this issue. We tried to collect relevant data and analysed them with aim to bring recent findings on inequalities in health in Kosice region. Several invited lectures were presented (1. Inequalities in health. KISH findings in Slovakia, 2. Reducing inequalities in health: main determinants of health inequalities and some examples of strategies to reduce health inequalities. 3. Regional socioeconomic indicators and mortality rates, 4. Analyses of developmental agenda of Kosice Self-governing Region with regard to WHO report on tackling health inequalities). In present time team is working on implementing health inequality topic into the developmental agenda of Kosice Self-governing Region.
